Teaching in London

I think there is something very comforting about Autumn and the start of a new class or group. Perhaps it's the memories of being back at school and nostalgic simpler days, or maybe even the change of a season, shedding old leaves, making way for new energy and ideas.
Having just started an Autumn term with two brand new classes At Sue Allen's 'School Of Intuition and Healing I begin to feel the familiar excitement of students taking their first steps or even further steps in their development with enthusiasm and commitment! Every week on a Wednesday afternoon I will once again take the train to the big city and have a feast of exploration, experimentation and also fun with our friends in Spirit and a team of willing students!!

It can hardly be described as work can it :)?

The Mediumship Experience 26 & 27th May

Hi Everyone,

It seems hard to believe that The Mediumship Experience was a week ago and time flies by so quickly!
This was a new project with my colleague/broadcaster Frankie Hatton and myself bringing a medium and sceptic to the stage in 2 theatre evenings where the audience could be involved, interact and experience for themselves the subject of psychic abilities that I believe lie within us all, and a connection to loved ones who have passed to the spirit world.
The aim of the shows was to bring a balanced view to what is often thought to be a controversial subject where believers, those who are unsure, and those who have no belief can come together, share in their experience and decide for themselves if it is simply the mind at work or something truly out of the known five senses.
Not only is Frankie a sceptic, but an interested one and his questioning was excellent in promoting thoughts and questions during the evenings with some interesting results.
We would like to thank all of those who volounteered to take part in the psychic experiments during the first half of the 2 evenings and also those who recieved messages from loved ones in the second half of each show.
We are now looking forward to The Mediumship Experience tour of the UK in the Autumn and hope to see you there. Dates will be posted on the diary page of my website.

Frankie and I can be heard exchanging views, talking paranormal and recieving feedback and questions from listeners every Thursday between 5 and 6pm UK time on 'Frankie Factor' BayFM radio www.thebayfm.com. Hope you can join us!

Sunday, 9 May 2010

Looking back over the last week I realise how blessed I am, as ever, to work in so many different ways with Spirit.
With a mixture of evenings of mediumship, private readings, private tuition, workshops and a brand new 'slot' on BayFM radio which began on Thursday, I reflect back to my many years working as a trained Baker and Confectioner without a thought of ever becoming a Medium!
Life has an amazing way of taking unexpected paths, and being on the night shift in my small shop in Lincolnshire, putting finishing touches to wedding and celebration cakes, I could never have imagined how my life would change and will no doubt continue to do so.
Many of us find ourselves in a far distant place to where we imagined we would be at a certain time in our lives. Sometimes those changes can send us into unfamiliar territory which we resist because of uncertainty, and sometimes a sat nav for life's journey would seem a handy thing to have. We would all know what to expect and be prepared for change which would make the transition through life so much easier.
But would it?
The fabric of our very being is shaped by experience and how we grow and learn from it. Often I hear people say that although they did not realise why some events in life were happening at the time, the reasons so often later became clear for good reason, however traumatic, confusing or even joyous.
Nothing in life can ever stand still, even if we were to sit silently in a room for a day and do nothing the world will continue to change around us.
There are circumstances which we may have little or no control over but if we have the strength to embrace the unknown we may find ourselves on the most amazing journey of discovery of not only ourselves but of those around us.
If we find the courage to recognise that each second in time is perfect in it's existence, and that we cannot be in a wrong moment, then we are truly living life rather than simply existing within it.
Planning for the future is wise and gives us all a sense of security, but wisdom also comes from knowing that if we move to the rhythm of our own tune as it plays, the symphony then becomes a masterpiece!

Easter Already??

It surely cannot be Easter? It was only Christmas 5 minutes ago! I often hear people say that the time seems to fly by so quickly these days and there are now theories to suggest that the earth is speeding up.
I wonder if it is just that we all live a faster pace of life with texts, instant messaging and the like as well as demands on our time.
I am often very focused on making plans for what happens next, how etc and I sometimes forget to simply live in and appreciate the moment, the now.
From experience I know that in looking ahead so much of the time I often reflect back on an event, a meeting with a friend or loved one and realise that I perhaps could have enjoyed it more if I had 'stopped to smell the roses on the way' so to speak.
So, I have a few days now without work over the Easter break and I know exactly how I will be spending that time - savouring every second of it with loved ones, and the diary is firmly locked away somewhere safe!
None of us know how long we have on our journey here and as the saying goes 'Enjoy the gift of today, which is why it is called the present....'

Have a wonderful, peaceful Easter everyone, one day at a time :) xx

Another Great Seminar

Well I can honestly say I am now back in the land of the living (pardon the pun!) following another fabulous 5 days at The Coberhill Conference Centre Nr Scarborough at our annual seminar 'The Spirit Experience'
Feedback suggests that this was our best year ever with excellent Tutors Jay love and my own tutor and mentor, Maureen Murnan working with me. It was almost too much to take in that Maureen and I were sharing the week alonside each other in similar roles as it seems like only yesterday when I first walked into Maureen's class as a brand new developing medium.
In addition to many memorable moments with our guests/students was the trance experimental evening in which Maureen gave an excellent demonstration of this wonderful phenomena, followed by a physical mediumship demonstration by the spirit world who established a code of communication with us through 'rappings'from apparently inside of the piano in the room.
The evidence of Spirit contact was unquestionable to those who were there to share this incredible experience and I personally felt honoured to have been a witness to such proof of the afterlife.
Special and grateful thanks to Jay and Maureen and also to Alexa, my Course Organiser, who sadly hung up her hat for the position this year after 3 years on the team due to work commitments, what ever shall I do with out her? I wish her every happiness in her new position. Also to everyone including guests and staff who made those few days special for so many people - next year here we come :)

A New Decade

Happy 2010 everyone and I hope that your start to the new decade has been brilliant so far. Being snowed in for several days this month gave me the unique opportunity to catch up in the office and focus on new projects, in addition to bringing the programme together for my residential seminar NR Scarborough in February. I am always excited about this annual event as we always have a fab time and welcome old friends and new.
What I did notice about the extraordinary weather is that despite the disruption it caused for many, it seemed to bring people together on many levels.
News reports of rallying round to help neighbours and the elderly as well as the child in many of us building their own community snowmen, to me were heartwarming. In a world where time and materialism threaten the very existence of family life there were those, myself included, who had no option but to not go to work, and to just stay home together, proving to us once again that whatever man may create, mother nature really is the boss.
On that note also our thoughts as a nation have been with those affected by the devastation in Haiti. May it be a lesson to us all that however many challenges our lives give us, and however much we grumble about our lot,we are truly blessed by comparison.

Merry Christmas!

Hi Everyone,

It's almost hard to believe that once again another year has passed and we are all getting ready for that time of the year.
The snowfall we have had here in Lincolnshire has put me well and truly in the festive mood!
My diary is looking very full and exciting in 2010 including working trips abroad, workshops, demonstrations, 1-2-1's and 'The Mediumship Experience' which is an interactive evening of psychic discovery and mediumship with myself and broadcaster/sceptic Frankie Hatton in the UK in the Spring.
The new diary dates will be up on the website shortly so be sure to keep checking back!
Thank you all for your support in my work with Spirit over the past 12 months and I look forward to seeing you again in the coming year, and meeting new faces also.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas and may 2010 bring you more happiness than you could ever have imagined possible:)

Seasonal Reflection!

As the end of 2009 approaches what a better time for reflection and rejuvination than this.I personally feel it has been a year of great opportunity but also challenge for many that I know and have worked with.
Challenges are presented to us for the experience of becoming stronger and finding our true spirit within, even if it sometimes seems as though there is no purpose in them at the time. Each time we work through these, we come to understand not only ourselves but those around us. challenges often bring us into contact with new friends, and give new life to relationships with those we have come to know better. The joys in life bring us these too, and of course life does need to have balance.

What ever the coming year brings, embrace each moment knowing that everything is divinely in it's rightful place and time, and that there is a reason for all things.
Dont forget friends, a new motto for 2010 - Love like you've never been hurt, live each day as if it's your last, and dance like there's nobody watching:)

New Update

Hi Everyone,
As ever the diary has been very busy since my last post. I had the great pleasure of being invited to work in Belfast for a few days and that was a great experience. I had not realised just how warm the people are there and I was made very welcome. Brian lynch, a lovely proffesional medium runs a centre there where I worked and there is clearly a huge interest for mediumship in Belfast. many thanks to Brian and John for organising the trip and I look forward to returning next summer:)

More recently I went out to San Roque, Spain to take part in a brand new demonstration of mediumship which I developed with my friend and colleague Frankie Hatton who is a broadcaster and sceptic.
'The Mediumship Experience' was a very enjoyable evening with some excellent feedback as we invited audience participation with psychic excersises followed by a demonstration of mediumship given by myself and with a difference.
Frankie provided a valuable and entertaining balance as a sceptic/ investigator and asked the questions most people would really like to ask and often don't, bringing uniqueness to the evening.
We will continue to develop this and hope to bring it to the UK in 2010 as a mini tour so will keep you all posted:)

The diary is packed with workshops, 1-2-1's and dems for the coming months ahead to keep me out of mischief but I'll update again soon.

Making the Difference

Regular readers of my blog may have realised that Spiritual development and the fascilitating/teaching of it is a passion of mine.
I have a regular and established group on a Monday evening for students training for public work and this week we were kindly invited to a very sensitive situation which not only helped the students but gave healing help to a grieving family in coming to terms with the loss of their son in very difficult and almost unknown circumstances.
It is vital for any student to work within a protected and supportive enviroment but this very honoured opportunity outside of our usual venue allowed them to experience the qualities of sensitivity required in a very real experience of the work of a medium.
My heartfelt thanks and gratitude are with the family who so kindly asked if we would attend the location whose strength and courage touched us all, and to the students who demonstrated their empathy and compassion as very capable future mediums.

Seminars and Podcasts..

Having just arrived home from a 7 day seminar in North Yorkshire I'm burning the candle at both ends catching up with all of the e-mails and of course the blog!
Seminars are very exciting as we as tutors have an opportunity to really get to know the guests and to be a special part of the bonding that so often takes place between them.
Arrival day is the one where most of the students are finding their feet with where they are in their development, being away from home and sometimes not knowing anyone and its just terrific to see each one surpass even their own expectations in the most unique and unexpected way.
The seminar was hosted by 'The Butterfly Fellowship'which was founded 2 years ago by the Lovely John Conway and friends in memory of one of Spiritualisms very special people, Heather Hatton, late wife of Eric Hatton who is the ex - President of the Spiritualists National Union.
It was a priviledge to be a part of the week and I look forward to working alongside them again next year.
Also a big shout this week to Darren Yates, Aston FM's 'Cheeky Chappy' who is giving his expertise to launch my podcasts soon to be available via my website, in addition to some other exciting developments...we'll keep you posted!

Have a fabulous week and check back soon for more updates....

Spiritually Technical Ponderings........

It never ceases to amaze me how the work of a medium can be so varied and change in so many ways. As a newcomer to Spiritualism 13 years ago I could not have imagined how widely available and accessable mediumship and education would become.
Yesterday we had a loss of power for a while.
The office of light was plunged into total silence without the usually unnoticed constant whir of the computer. No e-mail, no internet, no phone to ring, I felt completely lost in the eerie quiet.
I thought in awe of Doris Stokes who achieved so much without the use of computers, mobile phones,Facebook and with 3 channels on the TV. Doris, like so many other earlier mediums, reached out around the world by more simplistic methods that were just as powerful.
Of course many of the pioneers of Spiritualism achieved great things without telephone or television which is testament to Spirit making their mighty message heard utilizing the channels of communication available to them.
Yesterday gave me the time out to ponder this point.

I am soon to join the world of the podcast which will be available on a regular basis via my website so we will keep you up to date on that and you can find me on Facebook too so please drop by and say hello.
Oh we are so fortunate to have such technical freedom but in revelling in that, may we remember with pride, honour and respect, those who faced far greater challenges in much simpler times and succeeded in bringing the knowledge of Spirit this far regardless.

A Busy Week Ahead..

Hi Everyone,

Having recently started giving 1-2-1's again after a break I re - remembered how much I have enjoyed not only working in that way but how great it is to meet clients and also their loved ones in Spirit.

Summer is always busy for me and this is also my development time so more exciting news is to come through the diary page of my website shortly so be sure to visit!

Having had a lovely week at Coberhill recently with the Lynwood Fellowship I shall be packing my bags and heading back there on 15th August for 7 days with The Butterfly Fellowship. This is my first opportunity to work with the Fellowship with Mediums and Tutors Leah Bond and John Conway. John tells me he is taking his karaoke machine and that I am excpected to be in fine voice and fettle - the poor guy has NO idea what he has started and by the second night I will no doubt be found locked and gagged in the laundry cupboard for the wellbeing of the disposition of all concerned..
Yesterday (Saturday 1st August) I was an invited guest Of Aston FM Big City Radio's Darren Yates for a live chat. Darren is a great personality with a healthy interest in mediumship and the paranormal so in addition to the chat, banter and phone ins we had a very enjoyable afternoon - Thanks Darren!

A busy week ahead awaits with teaching and 1-2-1's and I look forward to meeting some of you during that time, and as always please e-mail me if you have a question or enquiry.

Lets hope for some good old British summer weather too...

All Good Things!

Having started 1-2-1's sittings and personal tuition again recently I had forgotten how much I enjoy them. I have had a break for almost a year from giving them locally but am now pleased to be seeing existing friends as well as meeting new ones.
One of the aspects of my work that I love is the many different ways of working with Spirit and my diary is at the moment a fairly equal mix between teaching, demonstrations and private sittings. I am often asked to lecture as well which is always a joy - I just love talking about Spirit!
I am heading of To Coberhill next Sunday for a few days with the Lynwood Fellowship to give workshops and lectures and as this is one of my favourite venues I am looking forward to it imensley. The fellowship is full of very nice people so it should be a jolly old time indeed:)

This week I have just started working on developing a very exciting new project with a good friend of mine and when finalised all will be revealed. I am buzzing with excitement at the prospect of bringing this unique opportunity to life so be sure to watch this space !!

On a different note I was personally affected by the passing of Michael Jackson this week. Everyone will have their own views on this but as a Spiritualist I know that even though he will have fulfilled what he came here to do, it's the grief of Michaels family, friends and fans that touches me.
I feel very blessed to believe that there is a life onwards from this one but I still grieve for those things that are familiar to us human beings, which are then taken from our physical lives.
I hope now having returned home to Spirit that Michael finds peace and solace from the challenges in his life. May this remind us all of how much we need to appreciate each other and every moment of our lives with people we love before we blink and they are gone.

Hi Everyone,
Another hugely busy month has passed since the last entry which leaves me to think 'where does the time go?'
I was invited to go to Witney, Oxfordshire once again earlier in the month to give a dem and 2 day workshop for 'Third Eye Workshops' a highly successful project founded and run by Debbie Blakeney. There is so much interest in spiritual subjects in that area and the dem was well attended as were the workshops. As always the people were very warm and friendly and I had a great time...just hope they all did lol!
That was followed by a dem at Jenny's Sancuary, Banbury on a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon a week later and the atmoshere was just great for clear evidence, lots of contacts as well as some riotous fun with some very lively Spirit folk:)
So in addition to my Thursdays teaching at The College of Psychic Studies, other groups, I am now making appointments again for 1:1 sittings and personal tuition, details which can be found on my website.
Already some great opportunities are coming to fruition for later this year and also 2010 with at least one invite to work in Spain, Gibraltar, Istanbul and early plans for Greece and Cyprus. I consider myself very blessed to love my work and feel very excited about so many things....

Tomorrow Evening (May 29th)I have the great privilege to share the platform at the College in a demonstration of Art and Mediumship with my friend and colleague, June-Elleni -Laine.
We both talk considerably and are vibrant approach to our work so it should be a very lively evening......come and join the fun - details on my diary page as usual.

Magician V Medium Experiment

Taking part in this event gave me one of the most profound experiences in the time I have been working as a medium for many different reasons.

Organised by Fright Nights, Hosted by Ciaran O'keefe and held at The Dragon Hall Covent Garden this experiment between Magician Peter Campbell -Wells and myself was not so much a versus but more of a demonstration of how cold reading by Peter and mediumship by myself are two totally separate processes.

I admit to feeling under pressure (who wouldn't!) for the event but those who know me also know that I am always ready for a challenge and so when I was invited to demonstrate at the event I could not refuse..
For me the importance of this demonstration is something that very much needed to be achieved and shown because as we mediums know only too well, we are constantly thought to use 'Cold Reading' techniques in place of genuine mediumship.

Peter gave a good demonstration of 'tricks of the mind' which have been suggested over the years are techniques used by mediums and psychics, and then I gave a demonstration of mediumship which was challenging to say the least.
However it soon became clear that the arising challenges gave the opportunity for me to show that a cold reader would have simply fitted seemingly misplaced information to anyone willing to take it rather than let a connection go if the right recipient could not be found.

Feedback from the public and the organisers clearly indicated that the afternoon had been a success in separating the two processes which was a great result. I am so pleased to have been a part of the experiment.

Spain and Gibraltar April 2009

Just returned from 10 days in Spain and Gibraltar having had a really great time even if the schedule was somewhat punishing at times!!
With 40ish 1-2-1's, 2 dems, a workshop, healing sessions and tutorials all done I finally landed back in the UK midnight on Wednesday evening. As always the people out there are so embracing of all things Spiritual so it's easy for Spirit to work well and as always it's nice to see old friends and new.
The sun actually came out and stayed out this time which was a miracle in the making!
Now I am looking forward to going out again in 2010 and big thanks to Frankie and Lourdes for putting in the time to organise such a busy schedule.

The main question now for me has to be 'How do I live without Tapas until then?' :) x
