The Spirit Of Christmas 2008

What a wonderful fundraising night we had last Friday 28th November at The Corn Exchange, Stamford.
Homelessness is something I feel very passionately about and is close to my heart. Stepping over people in sleeping bags and boxes on a cold December night 3 years ago after coming out of The Savoy Theatre really hit home to me how real this problem is.
I have been supporting homeless charities for a number of years but doing that from my own armchair did make the situation less apparent until I was standing in the middle of it. The two extremes of circumstance in those few yards I will never forget.
On this particular evening myself and two good friends and fellow Mediums Jay Love and Alan Carter gave a demonstration of mediumship and will post how much was raised by the sheer generosity of those who came (and those who could not attend but sent donations)when we have the final figures.
Big thanks to both Guys who travelled a long way to be with us and especially Al who stood in at the last moment when our other friend and Medium Keith Behan had to turn back due to poor weather.
Thanks for trying Keith, your support was so much appreciated.I know you were as disappointed as we were.
Next time you see a 'Big Issue' vendor in the street, make a beeline for them, dig deep and buy as many as you can afford then tuck it where other people can see that you've bought one/some and they'll want theirs too!! Please do all you can to bring something positive to those who need our support not just on the coldest nights of the year, but all year round xx

DVD release

Well we finally made it and after months of hard work and planning, the DVD titled 'Donna Stewart..Honestly' is released on 10th December!! We are just so excited and very proud of this project and once again my huge and special thanks go to everyone who has been involved with this at every level, not forgetting the lovely David Skerry -Producer and Editor, Dave Stewart for the Artwork, and Frankie Hatton for coming over from Spain to do interviews. Guys, it has been fabulous working with such a great team and a very special journey for everyone.

Recent Events

There are so many opportunities happening at the moment that I seem to live in a permanent state of excitement!
I have had a wonderful time guesting for my good friend Tony Stockwell on some of his theatre evenings recently with each experience being unique and different, and I look forward to more of these which will continue to be posted on my website as they are happening.
Those of you who know Tony or have seen his work will notice how people just seem to appreciate him which is testimony to his warmth of personality, generosity of spirit and being a generally good all round guy with his feet firmly on the ground.
Tony's audiences have been lovely to me, especially as I often 'pop up' as an unexpected guest when they have gone out for the evening to see the man himself. Thanks everyone and also to the girls for the pizza and also the substantial box of choccies you gave to me at The Broadway Theatre, Peterborough last night. That was just so nice and amazingly there are still a few left...
Can I just remind you all to hurry and buy your tickets for our fundraising event for the homeless on 28th November 'The Spirit of Christmas'check my diary page for further details.
I noticed a very moving quote recently..'If you have a pound in your pocket and some loose change in a jar you are in the top 80% of the worlds richest people...'

Tour of Devon!

I have heard so much about the west country but have never had the pleasure before now so it was an absoloute treat to go and work at Paignton and surrounding Spiritualist Churches recently. For a week there were dems, 1-2-1's and a workshop on the Friday at Brixham which I loved because the students worked so hard and achieved some fantastic results as well as being lovely folk.
In fact they were all lovely folk in Devon and were so welcoming and generous, it was a very special time and I am excited to be asked back again in October 2009.
Thanks to Brian and Carol and family for hosting me (Brian is a superb cook - I thought I was in paradise!!)to linda for organising the entire week and for the girlie chats in the hot tub, and to everyone involved and who also supported my work during my stay...XXX

Demonstrations

Last Tuesday 16th September I was warmly welcomed at Tinwell Village Hall for a demonstration of mediumship. I have been visiting this venue for some time now for Dems and there is always something special about the energy of the audience there which makes a great atmosphere for Spirit to communicate clearly. With a lot of laughter and a few watery eyes,
The Spirit World gave us all a very special evening. Thanks to everyone who came to support and to Alan and committee for looking after me so well. Looking forward to seeing you all again in Feb 2009!

The last few days have been fantastic as I had the great pleasure of supporting the lovely Tony Stockwell on some of his theatre evenings. To be so warmly recieved by the audiences who were not expecting a guest was lovely and we met some truly great folk.
From a village hall setting to larger theatres may seem a very different experience to some but it makes no difference to Spirit whatsoever. Where there is love and shared memories, Spirit will be there be it 10 people or 1000.
To all those who came to those venues it was lovely to see you all and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Autumn Update

Hi Everyone
I am sure you must think I had left the planet because there has been no update for a while and my last post 'A Strange Light In The Sky' prompted some interest about a possible UFO sight in my garden! Sorry folks, I was referring to the sun..
Summer is always a time when everything comes to a natural still for me while people enjoy the sunshine (!) and focus on family time so this is when I create new opportunities for the coming season and beyond.
The DVD is almost completed now and we are all very excited about that so release dates will be available soon on the website.
It has been a fantastic project and an honour to work alongside such a professional but sensitive team so not long now to wait!
The diary dates are going up on the site over the next few days and I am very excited about being invited to guest with my good friend Mr Tony Stockwell on some of his theatre dates.
There will shortly also be dates for workshops and courses for Autumn/Winter and looking forward to meeting some of you again soon.
There are only a very small number of places left for 'The Spirit Experience 2009' at Coberhill, so if you are still thinking about it don't leave it too long!

On a final note, when the diary page is up PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE check out 'The Spirit Of Christmas' on 28th November at The Corn Exchange, Stamford. This is a vibrant and inspiring fundraising evening with myself plus special guests for 'CRISIS Open Christmas' to provide food, shelter, companionship and much needed facilities over the Christmas period for homeless people across London. SO...come spend your money, buy tickets for all your family and friends as an early Christmas pressie and help to give someone else a Christmas to remember.....

A strange light in the sky

Hi Everyone,

Having had a very busy development week I promise that the diary page on the site will be updated shortly when we have everything in place for the coming months and weeks.

I am sure many of you witnessed a rare phenomena this evening which I am sure will shortly be featured on the news, newspapers and other media events.
About 5pm this evening a strange light appeared in the sky and I went ouside to gaze at it in wonder.
I am now going to go outside again with a glass of wine to celebrate before it dissapears and the rain begins to fall:)

Start the week as you mean to go on.. expect change, embrace challenge, and live the experience of it as if it were the last.

less is more

Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to share something nice that happened this evening.
I drove down to Hertfordshire to take a Spiritualist Church Service. When I arrived the President and Chair appologised for the small congregation (approx 17)and clearly felt embarrased by the number in attendance.
As one of the few decent sunny evenings this side of last Christmas I could very well understand people making the best of day out.
I'm a great believer that those who are supposed to be at a dem or service find their way there and tonight was no exception.
The energy in the service was so intimate and special and Spirit inspired an address that, upon feedback was so relevant to those attending. The messages of love and support from Spirit were clear, evidential and healing and I was treated to some lovely refreshments afterwards including some fabulous homemade fresh cream and raspberry cake!
Tonight was a lovely and gentle reminder that mediumship is not a numbers game, it's about love and healing....
May those of us in service to Spirit, even if it's just making the tea for the church, remember our reason for doing so...

At last an update!

Hi All,
appologies to those of you who have been screaming at me for an update. It's been a bit manic so today I decided that before I do anything else, I'm going to do this!

Firstly, I have just had the honour of leading a wedding Blessing for two very special friends of mine, Margaret and Ken.
Those of you who have been students will remember Margaret who makes a lasting impression on everyone she meets simply because she is just an amazing person with so many qualities.
Margaret and Ken married 5 years ago at 5 days notice because Margaret was diagnosed with cancer and needed surgery. They have both been friends for 30 years and Ken had proposed many times to Margaret who finally agreed. It has taken all this time, a huge amount of love from family and friends and huge determination by Margaret to be well again, which is testimony to her strength and the love between she and Ken.
It was a beautiful day that I am sure no one who shared it will forget, and there was not a dry eye in the house! Bless you both, you deserve all the happiness you share x
This is development time for my work so new dates for workshops, groups and seminars will begin going up on the website soon so don't forget to keep checking back to the diary page.
Autumn is very exciting!
The new tour begins on September 4th at the Willows Arts Centre Corby and new dates will be added regularly. Corby is where I was born so it seemed a great place to start from. I also have guest appearences with my good friend Tony Stockwell on his theatre tour throughout the next few months which is a great priveledge, and of course the DVD will be released soon.
Theatres and Halls give fantastic opportunities to talk to people about Spirit who maybe don't go to Spiritualist Churches and Centres and I still love to serve these contrary to rumour:) so if you belong to a church and would like me to take a service or event, drop me a line!
Well that's all I have for now but promise to try to update as often as I can and in the meantime, many of my messages from Spirit are from loved ones who need to say sorry to someone, or that they love them and never said so in this life. If you need to say 'sorry' or 'I love you'to someone go and do it right now this minute. Don't wait until you have to find a medium to say it for you...

Third Eye Workshop Weekend -Witney

Hi Everyone,
One of the great things about a weekend workshop is it gives students and myself the time to really get to know each other and often people become friends and stay in touch, which is just what happened at this one in Witney, Oxfordshire last weekend.
There was just a fantastic feeling of love and support between everyone with each student wanting others to achieve their goals and prepared to do whatever was needed to make that happen.
Some personal stuff was also overcome in a big way for several students and the tissue industry had a great boost this week!!
Chris, get up there and shine my man and Graham when in doubt think HONEYWELL!

Thank you guys for being so special and for a great weekend and to Debs and lizanne for inviting me.
On another note, places for Coberhill 2009 are flying out the door at the moment so if you're still thinking about it, get booking as places are limited!looking forward to seeing you all :)

update

Well we think we've finished filming for the DVD and it's looking good. Editing has begun so it's well underway now.
A couple of weeks ago we filmed a workshop with some of my students who all did so well so thanks to all of you who took part and gave your time so that we could finish the footage!
On Friday 6th June I shall be a guest of the lovely Tony Stockwell at the Woodville Halls Theatre, Gravesend. This is the start of several appearances with Tony to promote my own tour later in 2008/2009 so it's all exciting stuff.
Having worked with Tony many times before he is great fun as I'm sure fans of his will already know so really looking forward to it.
Hoping you all have a great week, you never know, we might even get some summer!

DVD update

Hi Everyone,

Thursday at the South Holland Centre was a really great experience. The film crew arrived at around 3 to set up and we spent the rest of the day filming interviews, backstage footage and then the dem in the evening which was great. The energy was really buzzing, all helped along with copious amounts of tea and a substantial pizza delivery!

I love production anyway and was amazed by how much equiptment and organisation is needed to bring it all together, so thanks to cameraman David and the boys for a great job.

The only glitch was realising that we had left behind the CD of our intro music 'Do it For Love' which is so important to the start of the show so huge thanks to Dave for battling rush hour traffic and going off to get it in between being an ace photographer on the day!
Techies Bev and Dan really went the extra mile to make the stage look fantastic and a big shout for our interviewer Frankie Hatton for a sterling job all round and keeping everyone amused with his huge personality.
There really are too many to mention but sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone who gave their support, not to mention The South Holland Centre for giving kind permision to film at the venue.
If you were in the Audience on the night, big thanks for really getting on board with the whole event and making it a very special night for everyone, and especially to those of you who have given kind permission to be included to share your experience. The feedback has been fantastic.

Finally, to my dear friends in Spirit who I know without doubt have been the initiative behind this great experience, because of the incredible synchronisity in it all coming together in the way that it did.
Thank you guys, and to those of you who came to talk to your loved ones in the audience at the dem, We hope you like the end result:)

We haven't much more to film before the task of editing begins so we'll keep you all posted!

A New Team

As most of you know, I have a habit of burning the candle at both ends and it takes a few days at least for me to reply to your e-mails so please give a big shout for Nikki and Lucy who have just come on board in the office to share some of the much welcomed e-mails from you all.
Sometimes a reply might be from the girls, especially enquiries about tour dates, workshops and groups but I promise you I personally see every e-mail that you send and will reply where and when I can.
So many great opportunities are happening just now to share the work of Spirit and the comfort and healing they bring to those who have lost someone they love and that will always be my first priority and focus - oh and by the way, yes I'm still serving Spiritualist Churches for divine services for travelling expenses only!

Keep the e-mails coming, we love to hear from you:)

Filming at The South Holland Centre - May 15th

Hi Everyone,
I think this week has been one of the craziest to date as we have made the decicion to film some of the show at The South Holland Centre on 15th May as footage for the new DVD. Pulling it all together has been a huge but fun mission including flying our interviewer, Frankie from Gibraltar at short notice and organising film crew etc but we're nearly there.
So if you're coming to the show, don't forget to smile for the camera but don't worry, If you have a message on the night, we wont use any footage without asking first!

looking forward to seeing you and don't forget to come and say 'Hi' afterwards.

Workshop'Spring Clean Your Mediumship' 27/04/08

What a perfect sunny Sunday for this workshop today which was to do just what the title says 'Spring Clean Your Mediumship'
One of my personal joys as a tutor is to guide students through the many stages of their development and to share every achievement and goal. There is little that I feel is more rewarding than to facilitate the changes and progress that mediumship requires and it's always a priveledge to see students accomplish their hopes and overcome challenges.

The dedication of the students in this workshop was just great as we worked together through their individual needs with some fantastic results - well done guys, you were all amazing:)

Theatre Dem in Solihull - 25/04/08

One of the great things about doing any kind of work in the West Midlands is that people are so friendly and easy to work with, so being at the Dovehouse Theatre, Solihul on friday night was
a total pleasure. I love this theatre because it's intimate enough for the audience to feel that they are all a part of the evening, and for me to really feel connected to them which is always special:)
As always in that part of the world messages were well recieved and loads of laughter and support for each other when the spirit people were communicating and some lovely feedback which is always appreciated because I am only human after all!
Big thanks to techie Craig who makes it all look so easy and is a really nice guy:)

looking forward to going back next year..

Visit to Gibraltar April 2008

This was an experience I will never forget and what a great week! I've been out to Gibralter to work several times now and just love it because there is such a need for mediumship which is still a very sensitive issue out there. The people are so warm and friendly and always give me a huge welcome.

Organised by Lourdes Warwick and Andrew Ferrer I gave loads of 1-2-1's, a dem evening at the Caleta Palace and then spent a day filming a documentary style programme about my work with multi- talented broadcaster and presenter Frankie Hatton for GBC which will be aired later in the year.

After an initial studio interview we spent a few hours filming in the tunnels sensing historical info and had some great results so I hope the viewers enjoy watching it as much as I did filming!

I can't wait to go back in April 2009......

The Spirit Experience Seminar - Coberhill 2008

Ok, here we go - first post!

My first organised 4 night seminar was at The Coberhill Conference Centre near Scarborough from 25th - 29th February this year and we had a fantastic time:) Tutors were Janette Marshall, Shonagh Moore and myself of course all brought together by the guiding hand of Alexa, our course organiser who was a total star!
What a great gathering of lovely people. We ran groups, workshops, demonstrations, had a great night with physical phenomena and we even gave the students their very own earthquake! (well we dd promise them a week to remember..)
It was just brilliant to see students achieving so much in their development and really reaching their hopes and goals. The excellent student demonstration on Wednesday night gave testament to their hard work and abilities and I felt very proud to have been a part of that experience and I know Janette, Shonagh and Alexa were too.
Thursday night was an event as tutors gave the students a treat (or a fright depending on your disposition..) with a fun night with Sketches from TV shows including 'Horronation Street' and 'The Vicar of Cober' You can see yours truly as Alice with Shonagh as Geraldine and can you spot the Derek Accorah stand in?
The really great thing is that so many of the students have now become friends and have a community of their own and keep in touch. The next seminar in Feb 2009 will be advertised shortly so keep watching...

Welcome to my new blog

Hi everyone, well here it is at last and I hope this all works as I'm quite new to this blogging.
The idea is to be able to keep you all up to date with what's happening as the next 12 months are going to be quite a journey, and you can also feedback on shows, demonstrations and workshops etc. I'll try to update as often as I can - hopefully at least twice a week and if I don't you'll know I'm burning the candle at both ends!

looking forward too keeping in touch and meeting friends old and new.

love Donna x
